All Western New York Sailplane and Electric Flyers meetings (except for May/June/July/August) are on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM in the West Seneca Kiwanis Hall, located at 50 Legion Drive (off Union) in West Seneca.

Summer meetings are on the athletic field at Erie Community College, South Campus, commencing at 5:00 PM.

Directions to the West Seneca Kiwanis Hall:

From Buffalo:

• Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) west.
• Take exit 54 for RT-400/RT-16 toward W Seneca/E Aurora
• Take the Union Rd/RT-277 exit
• Turn right at RT-277/Union Rd
• In 0.1 miles, Turn right at Legion Pkwy
• The Kiwanis Hall will be on your left

Most Western New York Sailplane and Electric Flyers competition events, fun-flys and summer meetings are held at the Erie Community College South Campus. We currently have permission to fly sailplanes and electric powered aircraft on the field on the corner of Route 20A and Abbott Road. (across from Rich Stadium).

Directions to Erie Community College (South Campus):

From Buffalo:

• Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) South toward Hamburg.
• Exit to head East on Milestrip Road at exit 56.
• Turn right to head South onto Abbott Road.
• Continue straight on Abbott Road to cross Southwestern Blvd. (Route 20).
• Turn right into the parking lot opposite Rich Stadium just before Route 20A. We fly at the far side of the parking lot that faces the open grassy area next to E.C.C. South Campus.

Alternate Directions:

• Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) South toward Hamburg.
• Exit before passing through the toll barriers onto Route 219 South.
• Exit to head West on Milestrip Road.
• Turn left to head South onto Abbott Rd.
• Continue straight on Abbott Road to cross Southwestern Blvd. (Route 20).
• Turn right into the parking lot opposite Rich Stadium just before Route 20A. We fly at the far side of the parking lot that faces the open grassy area next to E.C.C. South Campus.

Western New York Sailplane and Electric Flyers have a slope soaring site located near Rainbow Lake in East Otto. The site is a cow pasture located above the lake on Tough Row Hill Rd. The hill faces North-West and soaring is best when the winds are out of the West or North-West at 15 MPH or greater.

Directions to the Rainbow Lake slope site:

      From Buffalo:

• Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) to head South on the Route 219 expressway.
• Stay on the expressway all the way to the end at Springville.
• Exit the Route 219 expressway at the end by turning left then right at the light to stay on Route 219.
• Continue South on Route 219 for 10.3 miles (16.5 Km). Bear right onto Plato Rd.
• Go 1.2 miles (2 Km) and turn right onto Jackman Hill (sign may be down).
• Go .3 miles (.5 Km) and turn left onto Plato-Mansfield Rd.
• Go .7 miles (1.1 Km) and turn left onto Mason Hill Rd.
• Go .6 miles (1 Km) and turn left onto Tough Row Hill Rd. (no road sign) opposite the bar/restauraunt on the corner.
• Go up the hill approximately 1/2 mile (.8 Km) and park on the side of the road. You will find a large rock in the pasture about 25 yards from the fence where flyers congregate. You are there!
